Canvassing Policy
The interests of exhibitors are paramount at this year’s National Painting and Decorating Show and for this reason the organisers will not permit any form of canvassing at the event. Canvassing can take the form of ‘suit-casing’ or ‘out-boarding’. Both terms relate to non-exhibiting companies or persons soliciting for business both within the exhibition hall, or on another company’s stand, or in public spaces such as refreshment areas, hotel hospitality suites etc. This can take the form of handling out leaflets, business cards or other promotional materials, or invitations to discussions or meetings during the exhibition tenancy period within any part of the CBS Arena or associated hotel areas.
Any person observed to be canvassing for business will be asked to cease this activity, and will asked by venue security to leave immediately if it persists.
The organisers must be informed of any hospitality suite where business is being transacted by exhibitors and consent must be sought prior to the event. Non-exhibitors will not be permitted to hire suites either by the organisers or by CBS Arena.
If any person or company is suspected of canvassing, they must be reported immediately to the organiser’s office. In addition to this website notice, signage will be located in the exhibition entrance area.
Behaviours Policy
The National Painting and Decorating Show has a Behaviours Policy which does not tolerate physical, sexual or verbal abuse directed at exhibition staff or other visitors. In appropriate cases venue security staff will remove offenders from the premises and in all cases reports of abuse will be registered and made available to relevant authorities or as evidence in court.
